People Skills | Leon ✖ Sehun

Browsing? That was something Sehun practiced all too well. It was nice to be able to look through all the titles and scan the back covers, seeking for new and exciting plots for or new information to learn.

“Y-Yes… I’m also h-having trouble f-finding something too… or at l-least something affordable.” Some of the books he was interested in purchasing were all exclusively available in hardcover, making their price much more hard on his wallet. He often spent a lot of money on books but he couldn’t always justify his purchases even when it came to books. Sliding the book he had read the back cover of back onto the shelf among its duplicates he sighed. Money was not something he had a lot extra of, and these days things were getting harder and harder when it came to his finances. Shaking his head to rid his mind of the thoughts concerning his finances he gazed back at the older male. Hopefully a good conversation with the other would relax him. “Nothing r-really. I-I was going to k-keep browsing around as I usually d-do, but it is hard to want s-so much and not h-have the means to get it.”

The question rattled in his mind for a while. How was he really doing? School had been stressful, which was unusual for him. Normally he had a grasp on everything but along with work and trying to be a little social he didn’t know how to balance everything. Social lives were much different that the regular routine he was used to, and they often came with surprised and unplanned outings. While he appreciated them he still wasn’t used to making time for it all and he found it exhausting. It was much easier this way for him. Speaking to the other male made Sehun forget about those things, even if their meetings weren’t all too common. Their conversations were still enough for him to find interest in, and the other provided a lot of insight into the world. Leon was incredibly wise, and he seemed to be much older than he looked, from his words to his thoughts he just seemed much more knowledgeable. “I’ve b-been… tired. It’s b-been r-really busy for me l-lately, that’s w-why I haven’t been around here much. W-What about you, how h-have you been doing?”

He fiddles a little with the hem of his jacket, straightening it so it, in his opinion, fits properly. Abnormally pernickety as he was with his clothing, wearing and buying garments would always be a hassle. One wrong fold and to him the shirt was ruined and he merely tossed it, or hung it in the back of his closet. Leading to him buying a new set of clothes at least every two weeks or so. But considering his line of work, his income and the large amount of savings he already had, money would never be a problem and thus he didn’t considering his massive need for shopping a problem. Cars, clothes, books and wine. All I need to stay happy. He thought to himself, gaze returning to the one whom he was speaking to when his sensitive ears caught his words, and idle nod of his head in response before he found the right words to respond.

“Ah, I see.” He merely said, refraining from furrowing his eyebrows as he pondered for a while. He hadn’t experienced troubles with finances since his first few years in England, almost four centuries ago. This brought many thoughts to mind of course, leading to him tapping his chin with chilled digits absentmindedly, barely catching the following words the male uttered, snapping out of his temporarily haze, to speak once again. “Well, if there’s a certain book you want, I won’t mind paying for it." He shrugged lazily as he spoke, always prepared to be generous and helpful, at least to people he had taken liking or interest to. Sehun being one of the few, obviously. Leon’s nature was quite uncaring most of the time, only because of him being deprived of emotional understanding, but he was kindhearted nevertheless. Unless he was victimized by his own animalistic nature and bloodlust that was. Fortunately it didn’t happen all too often.

He awaited the answer for the question he had asked with patience, there was no rsh after all. he had the day off and had all the time in the world, able to do whatever he wanted to do, and spending his time in the bookstore, speaking with the other seemed as the most pleasing option there was. It took a while, but when the answer finally came, Leon nodded once again. "I’m sorry to hear that, Sehun." He pursed his lips for a moment, searching for an answer himself seeing as the question had been returned. Lately, there had been a lot of emotions causing unbalance in the immortal’s life, grief, love, disappointment. Things he weren’t used to feeling, and therefore had him at a disadvantage. Fortunately he had people around to help him, and he was more than thankful for that. "I am well, have come across a few emotional complications lately but I have managed to move past them. It was straining but oh well." He spoke with ease, not having trouble with admitting things others would see as personal, it had never been like that. Never would be. After a moment of pause, he turned on his heels, leaving his current shelf behind, to walk into the isle where the other male was standing, making the circumstances of their conversation a bit easier. "Pardon me, but I prefer to not speak to you over a shelf, feels like we’re trying to distance ourselves from one another." He explained as he reached his side, eyes expressing the kindness his lips couldn’t, being unable to smile sure could be complicated from time to time.
